"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD.
"As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." ~Isaiah 55:8-11
I am reading through the bible this year. It is a chronological plan. This means that it jumps around through out the bible and puts everything in order. Job is in the middle of Genesis, the Psalms in the Samuels, and Proverbs in the Kings.
Time in the Word of God is SO invaluable! This is where you learn who God is, what His character is, and how He feels about everything. The Word of the Lord will not return void in your life. His words will accomplish AWESOME things!
Earlier today someone asked me how my walk was going. In the face of moving to another country, sharing the gospel with a people who probably don't want to hear it, and being away from family and my 'community' here, I find strength and growth from my time in the Word.
I challenge you to spend daily time in His word.
Be a Berean in Acts 17:11:
"Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true."
God's Word is living and active. Gather energy and encouragement from spending time reading your bible. God will speak and you will be blown away!
