I have already started learning this new language. I now know how my students feel when they say 'I can't do it!' I always tell them, YES YOU CAN! But when trying to pronounce some of these words that have 4 consonants in a row, it gets challenging! The other night I spent an hour flipping through flash cards that a friend has given to me. Afterwards my tongue felt like jello, and I had a hard time saying even words in English.
I know God is at work in me. He is preparing me to connect with a people that I didn't even know about 4 years ago. He has been teaching me what it means to be in the world and not off it. 'Be holy (set apart) for I am holy!' ~ Leviticus 19:2
The greatest witness to the Lord's work in my life is to be different. My job is to stand out so that others will take notice and the Lord will receive the glory. How humbling to know that He will work through me. All I have to do is seek Him.
In so many ways the teacher has become the student, in learning a new language and growing in my knowledge of Him. He is the teacher and I am soaking up all the knowledge I can receive.
As you go through this week:
- Pray about what you need to learn from Him.
- Pray for my students that I will be teaching.
- Pray about how you need to be involved with the work He is doing among the Czech people.
Matthew 11:25-30
25At that time Jesus said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. 26Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.
27"All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
28"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
