Training take two

This next year I will have a new role (or hat as Laura likes to call it) added to my time overseas. I will be a central administrator (CA) for my organization in the Czech Republic. What does this mean exactly? Well, I will be supervising and caring for four other Teachoverseas teachers in the country.

As a part of this I have returned to California for two weeks to get to know these teachers and start building relationships with them. Being at training as an alumni is a complete different experience. Instead of sitting and listening to the sessions you are teaching them. Instead of teaching English language learners you are observing the teaching.

The stress and anxiety of arriving vanishes instantly when you see a friend that you haven't seen anywhere from 3 weeks (teammate) to a few months (region mate) or a whole year (teachersin other countries). The new teachers look at you like you're crazy when you run across an entire room screaming like a little girl into the arms of someone else who is doing the same thing. There is such joy in community.

I plan to enjoy every minute of this fellowship before we all disperse again to our various locations around the world. And I look forward to the new relationships that will be built so that next year there are still people that I will be so excited to see again.

Signing off from sunny Pasadena, CA where I actually need a light jacket at night and in the morning. :)

Love and Grace from our Lord Jesus Christ
